Are you ready for the Criccieth Festival 2023?

Are you ready for a fortnight of musical and dramatic events in the beautiful seaside town of Criccieth? If so, mark your calendar for the **Criccieth Festival 2023**, happening from **18th to 24th June**.


This annual festival celebrates the rich cultural heritage and diversity of Criccieth and its surroundings, with a variety of performances, lectures, workshops and activities for all ages and tastes.


You can enjoy the sounds of **Sam Brown**, **Seren Winds**, **London Tango Quartet** and **Spandau Ballet’s Steve Norman** with his band **The Sleevz**, as well as dance the night away with professional tango dancers **Dante Culcuy** and **Christina Benson**. You can also learn more about the history and politics of Criccieth from **Guto Harri**, who will deliver the **David Lloyd George Memorial Lecture** on the similarities and differences between Lloyd George and Boris Johnson. And don't miss the **Gintastic** event, where you can sample some of the finest gins from local and national distilleries.


The festival will also feature a flower festival and art exphibition at St. Catherine’s Church, Criccieth. And a spectacular fireworks display to end the festival with a bang!

DAVID LLOYD GEORGE MEMORIAL LECTURE (Monday 19 June)

Delivered in English by GUTO HARRI - “Lloyd George and Boris Johnson: more similar than you’d like to think?”

• Writer, broadcaster & communications consultant.

• Boris Johnson’s Director of Communications for the last 8 months of his premiership. Former BBC Chief Political Correspondent, Spokesman and Director of External Affairs for Boris Johnson when Mayor of London, and Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs for NewsUK

SAM BROWN - RECITAL OF ELIZABETHAN LUTE MUSIC (Tuesday 20 June)

“The Eric Clapton of the lute” is a fluent lutenist and romantic and classical guitarist known for his imaginative and sensitive style

FLOWER FESTIVAL AND ART EXHIBITION (Wednesday 21 June to Saturday 24 June)

U3A SING ALONG (Wednesday 21 June)

SEREN WINDS (Wednesday 21 June)

A Cardiff-based wind quintet (flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, French horn) comprised of graduates and postgraduates from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama performing staples of the quintet repertoire and new styles and genres

GINTASTIC (Thursday 22 June)

An evening of gin tasting with Llanfairpwll Distillery

LONDON TANGO QUARTET with Dante Culcuy and Christina Benson (Friday 23 June)

• Experience an evening of passionate and high-energy dancing and drama with music from the rich repertoire of tango and 2 professional Tango dancers showcasing the art

SPANDAU BALLET’S STEVE NORMAN WITH THE SLEEVZ (Saturday 24 June)

The co-founder, saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist of the world famous Spandau Ballet accompanied by his five-piece band will perform Spandau Ballet’s hits plus lots more.
